The 2007 Reenactment

Will be held at the usual location near the Belington reservoir on
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 20-21-22, 2007.

militia The twelfth annual Battle of Laurel Hill Reenactment Weekend will officially open on Friday evening, July 20, with ceremonies at The Pavilion (near the reservoir). Reenactment representatives will announce the Gavin Fogg Memorial to be accepted by his parents, Gerald Fogg and Beth Longo. Local dignitaries will present the dedication plaque for the soldiers and a Lads & Lassies Pageant will follow. Entrants are asked to contact Mary Cox for applications to enter the pageant (published in Barbour Democrat) at 304-457-2691 or 304-823-0818.

A Living History segment is planned; Tacticals; Church Service; Entertainment and a Memorial Service at the monument location are included during the event.
The popular train robbery is planned for Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening presents a Cotillion Ball. A tour of the cemetery and battlefield will be provided. Book signing by noted local author, Hunter Lesser, is scheduled. For more information access www.battleoflaurelhill.org. The Belington Homecoming Day will coincide with the weekend festivities and will feature a parade on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., including a chicken barbeque after 11:00 a.m. and a car show beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the downtown area.
